What works with no signal
- Today's schedule and every step of a visit
- Clock in, Clock out and fixing your hours
- The price book, writing and finishing bills
- Recording cash, checks and cards taken elsewhere
- Estimates, including the customer signing on your phone
- Notes, photos and equipment (photos upload later)
- Adding customers and addresses, and searching the ones on your phone
- Booking, editing and moving visits
What needs signal
- Sending a card payment link, and the customer paying it
- Sharing your truck's location and the tracking link
- Searching the shop's whole customer list, and older customer history
- Calendar days other than today, and the map
- Seeing photos taken on other phones
- Google's address suggestions (you can save the address anyway)
- Portal links, and the web app's dashboard, reports, timesheets, stock and people pages
The sync button at the top
At the top of the phone app:
- A green All sent with a cloud and a tick means you're online and everything has been sent.
- Online · 3 Pending means three changes are on their way.
- Offline · All sent means no signal, and nothing is waiting to go.
- Offline · 3 Pending means no signal; three changes wait on the phone and go when the signal comes back.
Tap it any time to sync now. Pulling down on Today does the same and brings in the office's latest changes. The web app shows it only when it's offline.
If something doesn't go through
A badge appears under the top bar:
- Not paired: this phone isn't signed in, so nothing is being sent. Tap it to sign in. How to sign in.
- Sign in again: your sign-in ended. Tap it; your unsent work is kept.
- Sync error: some changes haven't gone through yet, often because Pipr can't be reached. They're kept and sent again on their own. Tap it to see which.
- rejected (red, after a count): Pipr wouldn't accept a change. Tap it to see which one and why. A rejected change isn't retried, so make it again once you've fixed the reason.
Your initials → Sync status shows the same list any time, with Retry now. If something is still stuck, tell us.
Don't delete the app or reset the phone while changes are waiting: they're only on that phone until they're sent. Unfinished bills (drafts) never leave the phone at all.
